Our twelve A-Z Worksheets subtraction videos are listed below. Most of the pages have the printable subtraction flash cards and printable subtraction worksheets as well as the particular subtraction video. All of our printable Math flash cards have an answer side (to use for learning the facts in order) and a side without the answer (to use for quizzes and speed drills). Use the side that has the answer to teach the subtraction facts as with the subtraction videos, then use the side of the printable subtraction flash cards without the answer to quiz the subtraction facts.

Printable Subtraction Worksheets

Use the printable subtraction worksheets to copy each of the basic subtraction problems, or subtraction equations, and practice them three times each. If the students will say what they write, they will remember the subtraction Math facts better. I suggest, after twenty-some years of teaching children, that any time that your student needs to correct his answer he should repeat the equation with the correct answer quickly, three times to help mend the memory.

If he has been working with a computer or copying the equations, the easy moment with the flash cards might be what it takes to make the facts "stick"! Also, if you are using all 12 tables the last few are very easy since most of the facts have been studied in the earlier facts. It is so fun to watch a student zoom through the 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s, and 12s after he has belabored the first 7 tables! Once he understands addition, subtraction is often a natural and will not need so much drill for a fast run through the cards! We find that when a student copies his work in a logical manner and says the problem or word out loud he has an easy time of learning the math facts well.
